Kim Kardashian Revealed The Story Behind Chicago's Name And Honestly, It's Confusing
“It kind of messes with me, I’m not going to lie.”
Back in January, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their third child – a baby girl named Chicago.
Mainly because Kim reiterated several times throughout her pregnancy that she liked the one-syllable names she'd given North and Saint, and would be continuing the tradition with baby number three.
During an interview on The Ellen Show two months before Chicago arrived, Kim said: "My daughter says the name "Star" all the time. She names everything "Star West." I'm not vibing on it. I do like short, easy to spell, one syllable names. That's kind of my vibe."

And the last time I checked, Chicago was not a one-syllable name.

Well, during an appearance on The Ellen Show, Kim revealed that she too was slightly confused as to how she ended up choosing Chicago.
When Ellen probed her on why she'd changed her mind from a one-syllable name, Kim said: "It kind of messes with me, I'm not going to lie. I really liked the one syllable thing."

And when Ellen then asked whether it was Kanye who had chosen the name, Kim remained confused.
"I don't even know," she said. "Obviously because he's from Chicago and that is a place that made him."

Despite not really clearing up the choice of name, Kim did let us in on some of the others that were on the shortlist – and they're actually really adorable.
Kim said: "We were going to name her "Jo" because my grandma is Mary Jo. We were also going to go with Grace. But then it was Chicago."

Well, let's face it, Chicago is cute enough to pull off any name.
